"The road to success is paved with blancmanges."

"William Felton was the Ralph Nader of his time. Before his daring treatise was published
in the 1790s, many
ordinary coaches and carriages could not withstand a 5-mph crash into a
blancmange; a test devised by the Ministry of Crashing Things About. Thanks to Mr Felton's
thoughtful efforts on behalf of public safety, carriages were able to be built much better and
easily withstood the more rigorous vertical plunge test using vulcanized blancmanges.
Once again, the genius of British engineering has reigned triumphant. You can view a number
of Mr Felton's blancmange bashing beauties right here."
