"Moving pictures before Hollywood? Righty-o. Action! Roll-em!"

"This wonderful 'roller print' was made for a moving panorama box, which was sold by
Messrs R & J Fuller at their 'Temple of Fancy' at 34 Rathbone Place, London in 1822.
The lively scenes are the work of Sir John Dean Paul, and were engraved by Mr. Henry
Alken, a capital sporting 'artiste', who also made his
mark on the world in sable strokes.
In addition to being sold as a continuous print, housed in a wooden cylinder, these lovely
panoramas were often sold as a series of frameable scenes in a Morocco leather-bound
folder. -- Something to think about the next time you look at those cheesy paste-board
covers on your expensive videos
